What is actually trending on social platforms, why formats travel, and which shifts are worth reacting to.

Trend coverage in social marketing has a signal problem. Every format that gets a name is already past its most profitable window, and most trend reports describe what was popular last quarter as though it were a forecast.
This topic tries to be more useful than that. We look at what platform changes actually do to reach and cost — algorithm shifts, format weighting, search behaviour inside social apps — and at the small number of trends that change the economics of a campaign rather than just its aesthetics. Creator-made ad formats. Long-caption discovery. Comment-driven distribution. Repurposing pipelines that make one shoot serve four placements.
Where we publish a number, it comes from campaigns we ran, with the caveat attached about how far it generalises.
